In 1544, Henry VIII employed Lord Volta to steal money from the future for him to secure his power over England. Strax, Jenny Flint, and Madame Vastra ended up in his court when they followed Volta back through a time portal. Henry VIII proposed to Vastra and ordered Strax executed when Strax offered himself as Henry's spouse instead. (PROSE: The Tudor Engagement)
