Macedonia was a country in Europe.
It was a part of the Roman Empire by at least 64 AD, when the First Doctor, Vicki, Barbara and Ian visited Byzantium. (PROSE: Byzantium!)
Later, it became an independent nation. (PROSE: Lucifer Rising)
