Disciples of the Light

The Disciples of the Light were a civilization which lived in the previous universe. They were a highly advanced civilization who came in contact with the Beast. There was a war between the two, which lead to the defeat of the Beast. In order to protect the universe, they sealed him inside Krop Tor and put it in orbit around the black hole later known as K37J5. They also booby-trapped it to make sure that if the Beast tried to escape, it would be sucked into the black hole. Finally, they made sure that the field that kept Krop Tor around K37J5 could be turned off in emergencies by providing air to the cavern that the Beast was in (it is uncertain if ,after the Beast's body was destroyed, the Gravity field would turn itself back on, although it is probable as humanoid races are sentimental of their structures and artefacts)

The Disciples of Light may have also sealed away Abaddon, the Beast's son, and created the Cardiff rift.

After the Beast was sealed away, the Disciples of Light seemed to have disappeared, leaving only shards of pottery and the Notebook. Translations are nearly impossible, since the language (and the alphabet) seems to have no modern decendants. DW: The Satan Pit)

Pictograms made by the Disciples of Light show them as black, humanoid creatures with white heads. How much of that is simply artistic design is unknown, although many Earth cultures drew similar stick figures with black 'Stick figure' bodies and white heads.
