A bus is full of children in 1965 they are being taken somewhere unknown. Suddenly the children get of the bus and walk into a bright light and vanish. In 2010 Gwen Cooper is withdrawing money from a cash machine and notices that all the children in the street who are walking to school freeze. Gwen begins to investigate this. Meanwhile at Cardiff hospital Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones walk into a ward where a man has just died. Jack asks the doctor there, Dr Rupesh Patanjali if they can see the man. When seeing the man Jack opens the man up and takes an alien body part out of him. Rupesh soon realises that this is Torchwood. Meanwhile a woman called Lois Habiba walks into the houses of Parliament and begins work her boss Bridget Spears. Bridget's boss is [[John Frobisher]] she tells him what has been going on with the children.

When they get their privacy, Jack uses a [[laser torch]] to open him up and gather an alien organ, which Torchwood believes is benificial. Rupesh suddenly enters again, and immedietely assumes they're Torchwood, which Jack quickly denies, until he hears from Rupesh that a few ethnic males have disappeared, but Jack thinks the [[NHS]] could handle it, and drives away. Meanwhile a woman called Lois Habiba walks into the houses of Parliament and begins work her boss Bridget Spears. It is revealed that there is a bomb in his stomach. Seconds later, Ianto and Gwen escape and the hub blows up.

"Children of Earth: Day One" is the first of a five-part serial of the third series of Torchwood.

Synopsis

When all the children stop and start chanting "We Are Coming". The Torchwood team have to investigate but could this be the start of a global crisis?

Plot

  • Wouldn't Tosh's Time Lock (DW: Journey's End) contain the explosion in the Hub? Probably not, because when the Dalek trapped in the time lock exploded it destroyed the lock. (Journey's End)
