Brandelaks were a species of grazing herbivores native to Strellin that resembled buffalo. They travelled in herds. During the winter, they moved to the southern plains of Strellin.
The Brotherhood of the Black Petal domesticated some Brandelaks and kept them in a courtyard in their monastery. When the brotherhood saved the lives of the Daleks that crashed on Strellin, they cut the stomachs out of two Brandelaks and repurposed them as wombs for the Daleks to recover in. (AUDIO: Order of the Daleks)
