Bligh made his debut in a 1962 episode of Brothers in Law, after which he appeared in Dixon of Dock Green, Moonstrike, Z-Cars, Danger Man, No Hiding Place, Till Death Do Us Part, Adam Adamant Lives!, Man in a Suitcase and The Wednesday Play. However, it wasn't all bit parts; he had a semi-regular role as Jonty on Taxi!.
