:: However the category doesn't exist. To avoid having a category redlink I am ''temporarily'' reverting the category change. Perhaps a subcategory of "Doctor Who magazines" can be created? I won't lose sleep one way or the other, though I think ''Enlightenment'' might cross the line into Magazine territory on the virtue that it is available without having to join DWIN; however, that said, to my knowledge it does not have retail distribution, and I have some 1980s-vintage issues that were true fanzine-style (photocopied, etc). So once a fanzine, always a fanzine? I'm not sure. Anyway, I'll see what I can come up with. [[User:23skidoo|23skidoo]] 15:42, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

::: Update: I put it into the Tie-In Magazines category for now, because it is a publication either way you look at it, so just putting it into a blanket fandom category doesn't really work. Tie-In is also a good place since ''Enlightenment'' covers the spin-offs too so as such is not technically just a ''Doctor Who'' magazine anyway. Maybe a fanzines sub-category can be created for Tie-In Magazines? [[User:23skidoo|23skidoo]] 15:47, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Why I created this article

Since a few editors seem quick to nominate new articles for deletion, I wanted to note that I created this article because Enlightenment is a pretty major publication in the Who fandom world, plus it's been around for 25 years, which I think makes it the longest-running magazine of its kind next to DWM itself (I could be wrong). The magazine is also published to a professional standard - glossy pages, the lot - so it's not a case of someone photocopying the thing in a basement. There needs to be more added to the article, of course, but I thought I would get this stub going. 23skidoo 16:31, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

I think you put in enough information not to call it a stub. I would call it a fanzine rather than a magazine, which I don't consider a pejorative label, merely as a descriptive one. --Stardizzy2 18:46, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
However the category doesn't exist. To avoid having a category redlink I am temporarily reverting the category change. Perhaps a subcategory of "Doctor Who magazines" can be created? I won't lose sleep one way or the other, though I think Enlightenment might cross the line into Magazine territory on the virtue that it is available without having to join DWIN; however, that said, to my knowledge it does not have retail distribution, and I have some 1980s-vintage issues that were true fanzine-style (photocopied, etc). So once a fanzine, always a fanzine? I'm not sure. Anyway, I'll see what I can come up with. 23skidoo 15:42, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
