Kingpin was one of the founding members of the Psychic Circus. At some point during the circus' wanderings throughout the galaxy, Kingpin found a strange talisman with an eye on it.

This discovery coincided with the circus' decision to settle on the planet Segonax. There the light-hearted band of circus performers became prisoners of the Gods of Ragnarok. Kingpin was driven mad and acquired the new nickname "Deadbeat".

After he and Ace were able to get the missing part of the medallion in order to defeat of the Gods of Ragnarok, Kingpin's mind was healed. He determined to re-start the Psychic Circus with his new friend Mags. (TV: The Greatest Show in the Galaxy)
