Joanna Monro played Rega in the Doctor Who television story Planet of the Spiders.
She later voiced Mrs Moloney in Big Finish Doctor Who audio story The Entropy Composition and Johanna Bourke & Carlotta in Special Features. She also voiced two characters in Big Finish's Jago & Litefoot series: Eleanor Naismith in The Man at the End of the Garden and a Time Eater in Chronoclasm.
Monro's other credits included The Bill, Emmerdale, Casualty and Doctors. However, she is best known for playing Anna Newcross in over one hundred episodes of the hospital drama series Angels (1975-1983) from 1978-81.
From 1982-84, Monro appeared as one of the presenters on the consumer programme That's Life! (1973-1994) with Esther Rantzen.
She is married to Granville Saxton.
