In Marpling in 1933, a device from the far future arrived in the town and turned a group of wasps hyperaggressive and gave them the ability to possess people. They killed Charles Rigby and used him as a host. During a confrontation, Rigby coughed up some of the wasps which stung Pink, killing him. The Seventh Doctor did an autopsy and found that Pink's body had mutated from the wasp's venom, but the process stopped due to his death. (PROSE: Eater of Wasps)
