Ysanne Churchman voiced Alpha Centauri in the Doctor Who stories The Curse of Peladon, The Monster of Peladon and Empress of Mars, and an Eight Legs in the Doctor Who story Planet of the Spiders.
She retired from acting in 1999 at the age of seventy-four. Despite this, she returned to the role of Alpha Centauri in 2016, at the age of 92.
