{{title}} is a legacy template that used to be used to manipulate page titles, mainly for the purposes of putting them in italics. This feature is now a native part of the MediaWiki software, and so this template is no longer necessary.

As of 2 October 2013, Tardis no longer uses this template, and we make no guarantees that we will maintain the javascript and CSS necessary to support it.
