The Owse were aquatic invertebrate resembling gold jellyfish from the water moon of Kaesov, a planet on the edge of a temporal rift. Due to the planet's position, the marine Owse reacted to any sign of a reality shift.
The Sixth Doctor used an Owse, in conjunction with a psionometric isolator and a reality inhibitor, to bolster the TARDIS's force fields against the Quantum Archangel's altering of reality. (PROSE: The Quantum Archangel)
