Story Notes or Behind the Scenes?.

This article has a large and varied Story Notes section. Some of the entres would be more suitably placed within a Behind the Scenes section, for instance the part about Barry Letts recieving sole credit for the story is not really part of the world of the story but is a real world event. Is this enough of a distinction to warrant adding a section in order to move entries? Some items might qualify for either section, such as the Caroline John with the gun issue; others cleary belong where they are. What constitutes a story note and what exactly is defined as 'Behind the Scenes'? Is there a guideline somewhere to reference what type of entry belongs where? Is it as simple as In universe items belong to the former and real world items belong to the latter? Probably not, but one can hope something simple and black&white is out there. Other issues could arise from trying to address this one. e.g. If a TV story has a deleted scene due to an artistic decision made on set or in the editing process, as opposed to one that simply hit the floor due to running time, which note would go where? Many other story pages have similar cases and overall the wiki would benifit by having entries properly re-placed. --Stillnotginger 11:10, February 20, 2010 (UTC)

"Dimensional paradoxes"?

I noticed a discrepancy between this serial and the Cybermen episodes of the new series on the topic of parallel universes. I put in what seems to be the most likely explanation - I think it makes sense. I don't know how the rest of Doctor Who continuity has dealt with this subject. --Bluebox444 4:35. Speculation

I reworded this bit to remove speculation:

• Events in the other world are clearly running 48 hours ahead of ours (Sir Keith's accident, Penetration Zero etc). This implies the Doctor travelled into the future as well. The TARDIS console could be said to have moved him diagonally in time.

The only information from the narrative is the Doctor stating that the parallel world's drilling is running ahead and that he has traveled sideways in time. Unless I missed it, there is no mention of the parallel world being ahead in time. Shambala108 ☎ 23:07, December 12, 2012 (UTC)

Barry Letts - Director

"In spite of Douglas Camfield receiving sole credit as director, the second studio recording block and studio blocks 3 and 4 were directed by producer Barry Letts after Camfield had a minor heart attack on 27 April 1970. Letts later stated that Camfield's preparations for episode one's studio recording were so meticulous that he just followed Camfield's existing camera script."

If it was a heart attack, of course. Some sources state it was a reaction to heart medicine, but that may have been part of the PR to keep the extent of Camfield's illness under wraps - that's pure speculation on my part, I would never suggest adding that to the article.165.225.80.225^{talk to me} 16:22, December 21, 2017 (UTC)

The Eye Patch Incident

"At Doctor Who fan events, Courtney frequently recounted an incident which occurred during shooting of the scene with the revelation of the Brigade Leader and his eye patch."

I really wish that this had been researched further, whilst more of the participants were still with us. Pertwee also stated this took place during the shooting of the scene (eg on his Mythmakers interview). This would place the eye patch antics in the second production block, shortly after Camfield's heart attack, whilst Barry Letts was trying to hold the production together. Was this done to lighten the mood of a tense set? Or did it happen in rehearsals?

All the sources seem to agree with the statement on this wiki page, but, as is often the case, there is so much left unsaid.165.225.76.70^{talk to me} 12:29, January 2, 2018 (UTC)
