Fort explaining how mattes helped create interiors on Platform One. (CON: Aliens: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly)

Alex Fort — sometimes credited as Alexander Fort, and mistakenly credited as Alex Ford on the Doctor Who television story The Christmas Invasion — was a digital and practical matte painter for many episodes during the first four series of the BBC Wales version of Doctor Who, and on the first episode and fourth series of Torchwood.

He was a documentary subject of Doctor Who Confidential in the second episode of the first series.
