"When K9 blasts a chunk out of the wall, it's obviously a pre-cut segment." Indeed yes, and the production subtitles detail why this is. It's not too distracting when watching though, bearing in mind that a shuttle has just smashed into the building and we've already seen rubble and broken walls elsewhere. It just looks like K9 has picked a partially damaged wall to blast at. Another Crack In The Wall
