Marshal Summerfield VI was the great-great-grandfather of Bernice Summerfield.

In an attempt to bring back his family's "glorious military past", Marshal was given the name as his great-great-grandfather Marshal Summerfield V, who ran the Caprisi Military Academy. By the end of 2389, young Marshal VI had been given to the Earth military by his father.
