Charlie Bennett, sometimes credited as Charlie Bennet, is a digital matte painter who was credited on several episodes of the BBC Wales version of Doctor Who from Smith and Jones to the 2009 specials. He shared a prestigious Visual Effects Society award with Simon Wicker, Tim Barter and Arianna Lago for their matte paintings on Silence in the Library. Their win was the first for the Doctor Who visual effects team, after several failed nominations.

He also contributed mattes to the first episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures[source needed] and a few episodes of the first two series of Torchwood.

Bennett's career started only shortly before his involvement with Doctor Who on the 2006 Jim Broadbent tele-movie, Longford. Whilst employed by BBC Wales, he has contributed to the films The Damned United, Skellig and Cracks.
