Professor Celeste Rivers was a senior scientist working at the Pharos Institute.

Biography

She showed Sarah Jane Smith around the Institute, much to the dismay of Korst Gogg Thek Lutiven-Day Slitheen, then masquerading as the Human child prodigy Nathan Goss. (SJA: The Lost Boy)

She thanked Sarah Jane for not telling anyone about the incident with Nathan Goss which could have destroyed the institute, later unofficially she permitted Sarah Jane to take away a fragment of the Weserbergland Meteorite kept at the Institute. (SJA: The Day of the Clown)

She later invited Sarah Jane to an old mansion along with Rani and Clyde, to investigate the ghost sightings there. Celeste and her associate set up cameras throughout the mansion, to try to catch glimpses of the ghost. Celeste later went to the nursery room to investigate a camera failure from the control hub room, leaving her associate from the control hub room. After fixing the camera problem, Celeste was startled by a baby monitor spinning of its own accord. While distracted, the ghost of Erasmus Darkening took her. (SJA: The Eternity Trap)

Behind the Scenes

She appeared in series 3 and had a bigger role than her first two appearances. Although it has previously been confirmed by the production team, her name had not been mentioned on-screen until The Eternity Trap.[1]
