Naming
I'll address your second question first.
The answer lies in Tardis:Disambiguating other realities. Because stories with "other realities", such as parallel universes, tend to have multiple versions of the same characters, we disambiguate by the name of the other universe. In many cases, both versions of the character are introduced in the same story, so dabbing by story title won't do. So Pete Tyler (Pete's World) is differentiated from Pete Tyler, and Petra Williams (Inferno Earth) is differentiated from Petra Williams.
As for Sylvia, if she is indeed a companion in that audio story, I'd cite precedence from Companions of the Eleventh Doctor, which puts Ian, Barbara and Lady Christina in the "original to comics" section, because they were not companions to that incarnation on television. In this case, though, the character has been involved with that Doctor on TV, but not as a companion. I'll have to take a closer look. 20:53, October 21, 2018 (UTC)

Game of Rassilon abuse

Hi :) We're glad you appear to be enjoying playing the Game of Rassilon. However, please know there are a few rules in place, viewable at Tardis:Game of Rassilon rules. And the biggest is basically, "Don't game the system". All edits in the game should be meaningful. They can be small, quick edits, to be sure. But they must improve the site in some way. Your blog post at User blog:Layton4/Me, consisting solely of the letter "m", was clearly an attempt to simply win a badge, as was your subsequent comment to that blog post. Neither added anything to the site or its community.

We realise, of course, that you meant no harm. You were probably just testing the system to see if it worked. So you're not in any trouble. But please just try to make substantive edits. Please remember that the goal of the game is to improve the wiki.
czechout<staff />   14:39: Mon 19 Sep 2011

To reiterate the point above, your edits a Changes are a clear defiance of the rule. 23 revisions with not intermediate changes? Stop gaming the system.--Skittles the hog - talk 19:50, September 23, 2011 (UTC)

Images

So you know; I reverted your upload of a new version of File:Manager.jpg. I did this because your uploading changed the image on this page to an unrelated one. The image you uploaded was moved to File:Floor_Manager.jpg but has since been replaced outright.

Thank you for your time. Raven's wing talk to me 21:11, October 8, 2011 (UTC)

Categories

Hi.

Thanks for adding categories, however, a top level category like Category:Humans should only be added to an individual's page if they've failed to fit into any of the subcategories within Cat:Humans. So for instance Ambrose Northover is already in the category, which itself is a subcategory of Category:Humans by profession, and that is a subcategory of Cat:Humans. Thanks. --Tangerineduel / talk 16:05, October 17, 2011 (UTC)

Welcoming

Hi. thanks for the message Layton. I will be sure to ask you first if I have any questions about the Wiki. Thanks again for the warm welcome! Billyboy123 talk to me 20:22, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

By the way

Just so you know, it is not acceptable for a user just to edit pages that give them achievements; as you seem to have over the past 24 hours. Achievements are there to encourage users to edit there as well as other places on the wiki; you should not just edit there. Your recent edits mainly been around K9 television stories and Sarah Jane Smith audio stories - two set of achievements that just came out.

Please remember that editing soley for achievement reasons can get you blocked and kicked of the Game of Rassilon, which you and we don't want. So just remember to edit every where you can on the wiki, not just in the places where there are achievements. MM/Want to talk? 20:16, December 18, 2011 (UTC)

Ok. Sorry about that. Just saying that if people look on a SJA audio page, and it says "the Doctor" they won't know what Doctor it is. So I changed it to "Third Doctor" Layton4 15:05, December 31, 2011 (UTC)

Block

Please note that you have been blocked from editing for 24 hours. The reason: all you edits have been within pages that you get achievements in order to get them. This is not allowed. Please do not soley edit pages in which you get achievements, as you have been warned before.

You can still edit your own talk page. Thank you for understanding. MM/Want to talk? 12:30, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Editing

Do not just edit pages where there are achievements. Edit everywhere you can. Editing on solely on pages that give you achievements can be considered cheating in the Game of Rassilon and will get you blocked from editing.

You have already been warned before, please remember this. MM/Want to talk? 13:55, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Mentions

Mentions have been deliberately turned off. Notice was given at Forum:"Mentions" field being deactivated.

They render in a very confusing way in the mobile skin that Wikia recently launched, such that they seem to be appearances on most mobile devices. But it's not just mobile issues. Ordinary desktop displays are flummoxed by these super-long mentions fields. As the infobox grows vertically, photos in early sections of the article are seriously displaced. That's two significant tech issues, so they're outta here without further debate. There's no forum discussion that makes right a technical problem -- much less two.

Moreover, there was user dissatisfaction with the field anyway. A big problem was they were notoriously incomplete. Infoboxen should really contain only solid, simple facts. They're not places to build lists, especially ones where "what counts as a mention?" is at issue. Removing them was the prudent course of action.

Basically they're junk clogging up the design, and the info is too insignificant for its own article. So the "info", to the extent it was actually informational, goes. .

Admin request

Looking very quickly through your list of contributions a large majority of them appear to be minor edits.

At the moment you haven't contributed enough to the wiki to make a judgment of your editing ability accurate. I also have to take into consideration your recent editing block mentioned above.

You can continue to involve yourself in the majority of all of the wiki's tasks. You may also look at T:HOW ADMIN for more information about how you can involve yourself in admin-like tasks. Thanks, any other questions please ask and I'll try to answer. --Tangerineduel / talk 16:08, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Forum clarification

Hiya :) Could you please clarify your position at Forum:Can we disable visual editor please? You've cast your vote as "get rid of it", and you say you agree with the disabling rationale, but you end your remarks by saying something like, "we should keep it for those who want it". You should be aware that such a thing isn't possible. Either we get rid of it, or we don't. The debate is about permanently disabling it for all users in all circumstances. There is no "halfway house" for this action.

Edits

Can you tell me exactly what you have edited: here and here?

Right now, from what I'm seeing, you have gone to edit the page, made no changes and clicked save, in order to get the achievements. Please tell me exactly what your edits stated about have done. They seem like nothing. MM/Want to talk? 17:26, March 27, 2012 (UTC)

Might I extent my apologises to you for the above message. I believed that you had, somehow, saved the page without editing. Czechout has just reminded that it is not possible, but you actually managed to line-up the infobox, which the edit history did not show. I apologise again. MM/Want to talk? 21:16, April 19, 2012 (UTC)

Badge

I have no idea. I would bring it up with User:CzechOut, he is more of the technical wiz than I am, he will probably know what has happened. MM/Want to talk? 15:59, April 23, 2012 (UTC)

Heh, I was hoping MM would have remembered the thing being added twice, and he could therefore tell you that he definitely remembered the error occurring. I've never seen nor heard about such an error before, though. I suppose we could count up all the points manually and see if it's reflected in the score — but I'm probably not going to do that. In any case, that wouldn't prove an actual mis-scoring, because it could be simply that the system awarded the wrong badge, rather than the wrong number of points. Point is, it's not a widespread problem, so it's not even really worth investigating.
If you want to submit a Special:Contact/bug about it to Wikia, though, you're at liberty to do. And if they respond with an answer of more than, "Thanks! We'll look into it," then I'd be interested in the answer.

Christmas cheer

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

Episode title

Please re-familiarize yourself with Tardis:Spoiler policy. You may not post the title of the next unaired episode on any pages except at Howling:The Howling. Shambala108 20:46, August 23, 2014 (UTC)

Into the Dalek

Thanks for that, I thought I had got them all. Shambala108 20:55, August 30, 2014 (UTC)

Re character stubs

Great! A lot of times the old stuff gets ignored during a new season, so that will be a big help. There's one thing I need you to keep in mind. When you add content, and when you remove the character stub tag, don't mark the edit as "minor". You can read what defines a minor edit at Tardis:Edit summary. Thanks! Shambala108 21:37, November 11, 2014 (UTC)

Infoboxes

Hi! I noticed that you have a "Infobox Individual" on your user page. That infobox is only for story characters. For your user page you must use "Infobox User". Thanks! Shambala108 23:53, February 26, 2015 (UTC)

User page

Hi! Regarding the information on User:Layton4, if it is fan fiction, you will have to remove it. Per Tardis:Fan fiction on user pages, we do not allow fan fiction anywhere on the wiki, including user pages. The site I mentioned has a place or two that you can check out for posting your fan fiction. Thanks. Shambala108 00:34, November 15, 2016 (UTC)

Page moves

Hi! Please note that per Thread:128198 only admins are permitted to move pages on this wiki. Thanks. Shambala108 00:51, November 30, 2016 (UTC)

Category question

Hi! Category:Human military officers is a special category created as a project (long since abandoned, like most projects on this wiki). It needs discussion and organization of the different military ranks. It should be kept separate from Category:Human military personnel, which is a category for human military characters when we don't know their rank or they don't have any. Hope this helps. Shambala108 00:17, April 11, 2017 (UTC)

Wraith

That's a nice idea to have a disambiguation page. The only thing to determine is whether it should be at Wraith or Wraith (disambiguation). I'm waiting for additional information from the ongoing comic series. Updates are likely to be posted at Talk:Wraith. As soon as that discussion wraps up, I'd be happy to move the page and that you create the dab page. Thanks for the offer. Amorkuz 19:46, May 9, 2017 (UTC)

Reminder

Hi, just reminding you that, just as I pointed out a little over a year ago, only admins are permitted to move pages. Please read the link I posted above regarding what you should do when you see a page that needs renaming/moving. Thanks, Shambala108 02:01, January 30, 2018 (UTC)

As for Sylvia, if she is indeed a companion in that audio story, I'd cite precedence from , which puts Ian, Barbara and Lady Christina in the "original to comics" section, because they were not companions to that incarnation on television. In this case, though, the character has been involved with that Doctor on TV, but not as a companion. I'll have to take a closer look.
