A dummy or mannequin was an artificial humanoid figure, constructed from plastic, generally used to display clothing. As such, they were typically seen behind the windows of Earth shops, and so became refered to as shop window dummies, (TV: Rose, Love & Monsters), or simply shop dummies. (COMIC: Supremacy of the Cybermen) Though naturally inanimate, their plastic bodies made them to susceptible to manipulation by the Nestene Consciousness, who used them to attack humans during its numerous attempts to conquer the planet Earth. To that end, the Autons were fitted with a concealed wrist-gun within their hands. (TV: Spearhead from Space, Rose)
