The sixteenth issue of the Doctor Who DVD Files - "The Ultimate Build-up Doctor Who Encyclopaedia" had a cover date of 12 August 2009.
Contents
Collectable loose leaf pages divided into seven categories that could be filed accordingly.
- Escape From Earth
- Helen Raynor Writer and Script Editor (fold out)
- New New York Cars (fold out)
DVD release (with cover blurb)
- Each issue came with a DVD release covering two episodes.
- Reversible DVD sleeves enabled the collector to display one of two designs featuring either the Doctor and his enemies or his companions.
- "There's something living down there in the smoke."
- Visiting New New York again, the Doctor finds it greatly changed. Martha isn't too impressed with the future city and is even less pleased when she's abducted by two desperate motorists! But, what's hiding in the smoke at the bottom of the motorway? And what important message does a dying friend have for the Doctor?
- "The children of Skaro must walk again!"
- New York, New York, so good they visited it twice! This time the Doctor and Martha are back on the original Earth for a 1930's stateside visit. While they might expect to find dancing girls on Broadway and the dire effect of the Depression, Pig Slaves and Daleks in the sewers are a rather unwelcome surprise...
Notable information
- In Gridlock, the song being sung was "The Old Rugged Cross".
- The Tenth Doctor claims American singer-songwriter Janis Joplin gave him his coat.
- Romana worked in the Bureau of Ancient Records on Gallifrey before joining the Doctor.
- Dalek Sec was the former leader of the Seventh Incursion Squad.
- In early drafts Jackie Tyler was to be called Judy.
