Fusion-web was a Hyperion technology used to transfuse the energy of a sun into individual Hyperions to prolong their life.
The use of a fusion-web on a sun left it drained and led to the extinction of the inhabitants of its solar system. The wide-spread use of fusion-webs by the Hyperions led to the Great Inferno, a war that wiped out most Hyperions. (COMIC: Terrorformer)
