Liquid cats were artificial cats created by humans in the 26th century. Attempts had been made to make computers which used water as a storage medium; the results turned out to have too little memory to be useful, but enough to act as pets. They could be mixed with dye to be made any colour.

In 2596, Christine Summerfield and Chris Cwej visited a stall on Cygni 8.6 which sold liquid cats. (PROSE: Dead Romance)
