Kalendorf was the first short story in the Short Trips anthology Short Trips: Dalek Empire. It was written by Nicholas Briggs. It featured Kalendorf and the Knights of Velyshaa.

Summary

Kalendorf has been sent to Vega VI for negotiations for the Knights of Velyshaa to participate in the impending Dalek War. He's waiting for contact from Earth Alliance operative Alby Brook when the Daleks attack Vega VI. The city and spaceport are obliterated, but Kalendorf survives through a combination of skill, panic and luck. However, the scale of destruction and the number of refugees quickly drain Kalendorf's morale. He's injured and ready to give up, but fellow refugee Susan Mendes refuses to let him go. Her actions snap him out of his despair and give him back that most crucial of elements: hope.
