The American Federation of Musicians was a musician's union in the United States during the 20th century.
In 28 July 1942, the Federation went on strike because they wanted more money from the recording studios. No American musician could record music until the strike ended on 1 December 1944. On the alternate Earth visited by the Seventh Doctor and Ace, the ban never occurred. (PROSE: Atom Bomb Blues)
