P. Oxy. 1787 was a papyrus document on which was discovered the following lines of poetry, by Sappho.
- ... and this ... (destructive) spirit,
- Of barbarian legend,
- Truly did not love,
- ... destroyed on account of order,
- His master the cause neither.
- ... nothing much...
- ... an iron boxed spirit.
