The Proxima System is the closest star system to the Sol System.

Components

If Proxima Centauri is anything like its real world counterpart, the star and any orbitng objects would also orbit the binary pair Alpha Centauri A and B.

History

The Doctor visited this system twice with companion Majenta Pryce. (DWM:Mortal Beloved/The Deep Hereafter)

The Grandaughter of the Tenth Doctor's Companion Adelaide Brooke, Susie Fontana Brooke, would go on to explore the system using the first human lightspeed ship. (DW: The Waters of Mars)
