Adamnan was a 6th century historian who wrote about Saint Columba's encounter was a monster at Loch Ness in 565. He described it as "the driving away of a certain water monster by virtue of prayer of the holy man". The incident was later considered the first recorded sighting of the Loch Ness Monster. Adamnan later became the Abbot of Iona. When summarising the history of the Loch Ness Monster and its relation to Zygon and Skarasen presence on Earth in his alien exposé The Secret Lives of Monsters, Justin Richards took note of what Columba saw in 565 and quoted Adamnan's writings.
