Anohni (born 24 October 1971[1]) is the lead vocalist of the band Antony and the Johnsons, which she founded. Her 2005 song "Hope There's Someone" was used in Torchwood, in the 2006 story Random Shoes.

While Bethany Black became Doctor Who's first only transgender actor in 2015, as an openly trans woman, Anohni was the first to lend her voice to even one of the programme's sequels. Outside the DWU, she was the second trans person to be nominated for an Academy Award, ever.
