Batman was the name used by an incarnation of the Doctor.
Batman worked alone as a superhero for a time in New York City. After the Fifth Doctor landed his TARDIS on Madison Avenue and left it unlocked, Batman entered with an array of other superheroes that included Spider-Man and Superman.
