Rouvray was a counter-revolutionary in France. In July 1794, he, along with D'Argenson, encountered the First Doctor and his companions in a farmhouse twelve kilometres from Paris. Unknown to them, they had been followed by revolutionary soldiers.

D'Argenson lost his nerve and went out of the farmhouse to confront the soldiers. Rouvray followed but was shot and killed by a sergeant. D'Argenson was killed soon after. (TV: The Reign of Terror)
