A spacecraft, or spaceship, was a transportation vessel designed to operate in the vacuum of space, capable of moving objects or passengers between planets, galaxies and, for species with the adequate technology, the other side of the universe.
These ranged from rockets to launch artificial satellites into planetary orbit (TV: Delta and the Bannermen, PROSE: Alien Bodies) to interstellar spacecraft, also known as starships, capable of reaching the edge of the universe. (COMIC: Voyage to the Edge of the Universe)
They could be made from any number of materials, such as plastic, ceramic or metal. (TV: The Hand of Fear)
There were various types of spacecraft, including, but not limited to flying saucers, rockets, space probes and shuttlecrafts. (TV: The Pandorica Opens)
By species
Spacecraft were used by numerous species including Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Terileptils, Raxacoricofallapatorians, Chelonians, Nestenes, Drahvins, Sycorax, Haemogoth, Zygons, Atraxi, Draconians (TV: The Pandorica Opens) and Silurians. (TV: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship)
