Talk about it here.

Doctor Manette

Doctor Manette was a character from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. He was the father of Lucie Manette.

At one point in the book, Doctor Manette told his daughter about his time in prison. He told her he loved her "better than words [could] tell" and "thanked Heaven for having bestowed her".

At one point in the book, Manette was approached by Mr Lorry, who considered him a dear friend, while working as a shoemaker. Lorry asked Manette to consider his work, stating that it was not his true occupation. Manette would not listen, and continued to work.

Pages featuring Doctor Manette appeared on Toshiko Sato's computer, after she transferred the data from copy of the physical book using an alien data scanner. (TV: Everything Changes)
