Colin was Phillip Cook's ex. They met in the armed forces circa the 1960s and entered into a relationship, during the course of which his voice noticeably deepened. He died in a car crash in the late 1980s, but Phillip received calls from him in 1998 due to the effects of part of the Doomsday Chronometer on a telephone mast. (AUDIO: Absent Friends)
