Ed Byers was officer of the watch for Vega VI's Planetary Traffic Control. He was interviewed by Gordon Pellan on Vega VI News following the SD Victorious's crash and informed Pellan that the Rapid Response Fleet had engaged an enemy fleet just outside the Vega System.
