Elton John was a male singer from the planet Earth.
Peri once disdainfully likened a statue of Eros she had recently seen to the visage of Elton John. (DW: Planet of Fire) Elton Pope also made reference to him on his personal videolog, going so far as to include a clip of John singing in an attempt to differentiate himself from the singer. (DW: Love & Monsters)
Elton John wrote the music for and sang the original recording of "Circle of Life" for the Earth film, The Lion King. The Doctor accidentally quoted lyrics from this song during his confrontation with the Sycorax. (DW: The Christmas Invasion)
Appearances
- DW: Planet of Fire (mentioned only)
- DW: Love & Monsters
Behind the scenes
- Stock footage of Elton John performing in concert is used for his very brief cameo in Love and Monsters, marking one of the few occasions a well-known British musical performer had been featured in such a way. A similar stock-footage cameo was conducted for The Beatles in DW: The Chase.
