== What is a "blind" pyramid? ==
The pyramid that Prof. Scarman discovers is referred to as a "blind pyramid". Does anyone have any idea what this term is intended to mean? I've tried searching for it, but all I've been able to find are references to ''Pyramids of Mars'' and quotations from [https://books.google.com/books?id=eZtWAAAAcAAJ&pg=PA181&lpg=PA181&dq=%22blind+pyramid%22&source=bl&ots=ahW17wrw91&sig=ACfU3U1iZmbM69Ib4WRt1GO4qkZNRtdjDg&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwitzYepyp3uAhWAFjQIHWNbD3oQ6AEwFXoECAoQAg#v=onepage&q=%22blind%20pyramid%22&f=false an old book of engineering formulae] that are too complex for me to discern what the term means in that context but don't seem to have anything to to with pyramids like those in Egypt (or on Mars).
I've found references to [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_arch blind arches] and [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_arcade blind arcades], but I'm not sure how that meaning of "blind" would be applied to pyramids.

What is a "blind" pyramid?

The pyramid that Prof. Scarman discovers is referred to as a "blind pyramid". Does anyone have any idea what this term is intended to mean? I've tried searching for it, but all I've been able to find are references to Pyramids of Mars and quotations from an old book of engineering formulae that are too complex for me to discern what the term means in that context but don't seem to have anything to to with pyramids like those in Egypt (or on Mars).

I've found references to blind arches and blind arcades, but I'm not sure how that meaning of "blind" would be applied to pyramids.
