This topic might have a better name.

Mordee

Talk about it here.

You may wish to consult planet (disambiguation) for other, similarly-named pages.

An Earth-like planet had at least part of its surface covered in dense jungle. The Horda were one of the native life forms.

Long before Leela was expelled from the tribe of the Sevateem for heresy, she went to an area where only the mightiest of warriors went, revered by the elders of her tribe, called The Tro'faroom. Leela's mother described it to her as a cavern in the very depths of the forest, where the ancient founders of the Sevateem had buried the remains of their first and most noble warriors. After every battle lost or won, her forefathers would take a symbol of the battle, like a skull, or an enemy weapon or a severed limb, and supposedly the room had become so full of the spirits of the dead the forest around would ring with their howling. When Leela went there however, it was just a cave full of bones and dirt, with one metal sign simply with the words "Trophy Room". (AUDIO: The Catalyst)

In the far future, the planet was colonised by the Mordee expedition. Shortly after they arrived, the Fourth Doctor visited and assisted them in repairing their computer, Xoanon. Centuries after his original visit, the Doctor returned to the planet, only to find that the Mordee had split into two groups, the Sevateem and the Tesh, both of whom worshipped Xoanon, who had gone mad from the Doctor's efforts to help. After restoring Xoanon's sanity and reuniting the two tribes, the Doctor left, accompanied by the Sevateem warrior Leela whom he had befriended, and who had helped him survive the Sevateem's attempts to kill him because of a case of mistaken identity. (TV: The Face of Evil)

The planet had giant jungle birds, (AUDIO: The Time Vampire) no seasons, (AUDIO: The Child) and cave frogs. (AUDIO: The Man at the End of the Garden)

Leela once compared the Congo in Central Africa to her planet. (AUDIO: The Ghosts of Gralstead) The jungle planet Garros also reminded her of her home planet. (AUDIO: Zygon Hunt)

Leela once told the Brigadier that her planet either had no name, or the Doctor never told her its name. (AUDIO: The Revisionists) Leela later explained that her tribe never named the planet because they thought there weren't any other worlds. (AUDIO: The Day of the Comet) A version of Leela from an alternate timeline referred to the colony world she came from as Mordee. (AUDIO: Disassembled)
