- Director Euros Lyn was scared of bath taps when he was young!
- Silence in the Library is set around the same time as The Girl in the Fireplace, the 51st century.
- David Tennant's father, Sandy McDonald, plays one of Lady Eddison's footmen!
- In the original scripts the Hath had lots of dialogue.
- The Ood song at the end of Planet of the Ood translates as "When amongst humans, we should be humane".
- The only member of the Caecilius' family to film in Italy was Francois Pandolfo (Quintus).
