Glortz was a Gardezzan warrior who led Nius's braves. He successfully recovered the capsule containing the War Master, surviving an attack by the Daleks, and brought it to Nius. He did not trust the Master and was hypnotised by him to obey, allowing him to contact the Daleks regarding his TARDIS.
The hypnosis was ultimately unsuccessful as Glortz began to remember what had been done to him and told Nius, revealing the Master to be a traitor. As the Daleks attacked, Nius handed command over to him and had him begin flooding parts of the seabed base in order to destroy them. (AUDIO: Beneath the Viscoid)
