Susan Engel (born 25 March 1935[1]) played Cessair of Diplos in the Doctor Who television story The Stones of Blood. She also played Ms Muriel Joy in Big Finish Productions' Gallifrey story A Blind Eye. In 2011, she read the AudioGO story The Stones of Blood, based on the original TV version. She is married to Sylvester Morand.
Engel was named by Gary Russell as his preferred choice to play the character Queen Aysha in an imaginary film version of his 1995 Virgin Missing Adventures novel, Invasion of the Cat People.
Engel's other credits included roles on Public Eye, Crown Court, Moody and Pegg, Inspector Morse and Casualty. However, she is best known for playing Helen Bourne in twenty-eight episodes of The Cedar Tree.
