While on Skaro in the 27th century, Bernice Summerfield described the Seventh Doctor as "the worst Yoda ever". When Flip Jackson told the Sixth Doctor to "do something" to stop his TARDIS from crashing and he said he was trying, she told him "do or do not, don't try." When the Doctor later asked her if she had been "paraphrasing science fiction" at him, Flip said it was something Jared Ramon was always saying to her and that she thought it was from "some dumb old movie". Behind the scenes

• Although Flip claimed she was unsure of the movie she quoted to the Sixth Doctor in Cry of the Vultriss, it is a famous quote by Yoda from The Empire Strikes Back, "Do. Or do not. There is no try."
• Yoda was voiced by Tom Kane in numerous Star Wars projects, most notably throughout Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
• In Season 5 Episode 9 of The Clone Wars, "A Necessary Bond", David Tennant's character Huyang recalls how he helped Yoda construct his own lightsaber during his training.
