Adam Smith is a British television director whose Doctor Who debut was the Weeping Angel two-part story in Smith's first series. He later went on to direct The Eleventh Hour, the episode which began that series and introduced Amy Pond to the Eleventh Doctor.

Smith has been active on British television since he directed four episodes of Skins in 2007. He followed up that experience with a sizable chunk of episodes of the 2008 adaptation of Charles Dickens' Little Dorrit, co-starring Bill Paterson, Freema Agyeman, Eve Myles, and Arthur Darvill.
