The Viyran Commander dispatched a squadron of Viyrans to capture and return Charlotte Pollard after her first escape from the Fieldship Prime. Whilst recording the Ever-and-Ever Prolixity's expansion in the Viyran Data Almanac, he met the Rogue Viyran and became "infected" with his ideas, seeing the future and fearing the Lamentation Cipher.

Once Charley was returned to the Fieldship Prime, the Viyran Commander promised her that she would be returned to Earth once their mission was complete and insisted that she was not a prisoner, being invaluable to the Viyrans. He accepted another Viyran's decision to invoke Leadership Clause Hexagon-13 to kill and replace him due to the Rogue Viyran's influence on him. (AUDIO: The Lamentation Cipher)
