Headed by Hilda Winters, the group's public face was the National Institute for Advanced Scientific Research, a legitimate scientific institute. The SRS used the K1 robot to steal the destructor codes for the nuclear missiles of America, China and Russia, planning to blackmail the world's governments unless their terms were met.
When the robot went mad, UNIT ambushed their meeting and most of them were arrested, though some of them escaped. (TV: Robot) Winters and several other former members would later become involved in Scala. (AUDIO: Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre)
