Kuiju was a 13th century Mongol bandit. Tegana hired him to steal the First Doctor's TARDIS for Noghai in 1289.

Kuiju stole Ping-Cho's money and was later confronted by Ian Chesterton and Ping-Cho on the Karakorum road. When Tegana arrived, Ian threatened to kill Kuiju, but Tegana didn't care if Kuiju was killed.
