Mr Marconi was an inventor who worked on transmissions and the telegraph in the 19th century. He placed a wireless in Flat Holm lighthouse for Florence Driscoll and Owain Pryce to use, testing to see if wireless transmissions could be sent as far as Glamorgan. (AUDIO: Save Our Souls)
Marconi got the patent for radio. According to the Thirteenth Doctor, before he did so they had to take it away from Nikola Tesla, who invented the radio first. (TV: Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror)
