Kirann Ransom was a 25th century human and the daughter of Stewart Ransom. Her advocacy for the Back to Basics movement convinced him to establish a colony on Axista Four based on its principals.
Unfortunately, the colony ship The Big Bang was shot down by Tyrenian defences. Stewart was killed in the crash and Kirann remained in suspended animation.
A century later, conflict between the interpretation of Back to Basics prompted the colonists to revive her to resolve the situation. They were surprised when she told them the movement was not meant to be adhered to rigidly. Technology was not meant to be abandoned, only used when truly necessary. (PROSE: The Colony of Lies)
