A life span or life expectancy is the average length of time a lifeform is predicted to capable of living.
Species Lifespans
- The Family of Blood's species had a lifespan of only 3 months. (DW: The Family of Blood)
- The Silurian (and possibly Sea Devil) lifespan is 200 to 250 years. Silurian-Sea Devil hybrids had a lower lifespan due to cellular degradation. (MA: The Scales of Injustice)
- The average Human life span is about 100 years.
- The Ood have a very long,unspecified life span as Ood Sigma lived through 100 years and didn't show any visible signs of age. (DW: The End of Time)
- The average Ice Warrior lifespan is 300 years (NA: GodEngine) although some have been known to live over 400 years (NA: The Dying Days).
- Boekind had a lifespan of 40 years although the Face of Boe was astonishingly able to live for slightly less than 5 Billion years. (DW: The Long Game/Gridlock)
- The Jixen had a lifespan of 800 years. (K9TV: Regeneration (TV story))
- The Time Lords (and likely Gallifreyans) had extremely long lifespans. They are able to live for hundreds and even thousands of years. The oldest known Time Lord is Quences who lived to at least 7'000 years (NA: Lungbarrow). The Doctor stated that Time Lords could life forever "barring accidents". (DW: The War Games)
- Osirans were able to live for thousands of years. (DW: Pyramids of Mars)
- Prisoner Zero's species were able to live for thousands of years, considering 12 years just a small time. (DW: The Eleventh Hour)
- Gorgons were able to live for thousands of years and when inhabiting a human host, the host had a prolonged lifespan of 200 years. (SJA: Eye of the Gorgon)
- Vervoids could only live one year before they decayed. (DW: Terror of the Vervoids)
- The Ogri were able to live for thousands of years. (DW: The Stones of Blood)
- Force-Grown clones such as Chip could only live half the lifespan of a human. (DW: New Earth)
- Peladonians were lucky to live to 50 years, most Miners only lived to 40. When they joined the Galactic Federation, medical technology allowed them to live to 65 years. (NA: Legacy)
- Poodles native to the planet Dog World were able to live for over 60 years. (EDA: Mad Dogs and Englishmen)
- Ockorans are able to live for hundreds of years. (PDA: The Final Sanction)
- Lupine Wavelength Haemovariform could live to 300 years by taking hosts. (DW: Tooth and Claw)
